146. CreARTive Sunday: Vintage Charm Bracelets: Food, Glorious Food
This is a mix of vintage charms with some new enamels thrown in for color.
The details are amazing, it’s hard to believe you are looking at miniature works of art.
There are several “mechanical” charms; these open and/or move.
this photo may be enlarged by clicking on it.
Carbs? Who’s Counting
The Food “Menu”
Starting at upper left:
(new charms were made within the last 20 years, vintage were made before the 1970’s)
- small ice cream cone with red, white, green and blue crystals, (fairly new);
- enamel orange (new)
- vintage beer stein, lid opens;
- vintage pie;
- vintage enamel hot dog with mustard;
- enamel peach (new);
- vintage exercising lady with a jiggle belt,
- vintage ice cream wagon, opens to reveal 2 little enamel flavors-a red heart and a green clover (luck and love);
- vintage birthday cake has a lever underneath to push candles up;
- vintage wishbone;
- vintage pressure cooker, opens: top and bottom attached by a chain, there is an enamel chicken and potatoes within;
- vintage fridge, opens, ice tray opens, interior has “food”, whole turkey on bottom;
- vintage food scale, top moves;
- enamel pizza slice (new);
- vintage bottle of Coke;
- vintage enamel potato;
- vintage enamel pudding with whipped cream and cherry;
- vintage rotisserie with chicken inside, spit turns, door opens, chicken comes out;
- vintage box of chocolates, box opens;
- enamel cheeseburger with tomatoes and onion, seeded bun (new);
- vintage bathroom scale, (the mechanism is stuck);
- vintage toaster with 2 pieces of toast that pops up (latch on side)
This is really something to behold. I love the lady with the jiggle belt and the coke is next to pizza followed by a sundae, what an Americn meal. It is just soooooo creative that you have put these bracelets together with themes. Thanks so much for sharing you beautiful bracelets.

Second try(Yahell lost my comment a minute ago):
This colection of charms is my favorite of all the bracelets you have shown us here!!
Who would have thought there would be such designs out there, especially the retro lady getting “jiggled”. 😛
You have reminded me now that my mother had(has?) a beer stein with an opening lid just like yours on her charm bracelet(I don’t know if you remember from a comment i left on an earlier entry of yours, that seeing your charm bracelets reminded me of how I loved my mother’s own bracelet growing up). She is away on a trip right now, but I want to ask her if she STILL has that bracelet when she gets back.

I am amazed every week with your creations. This food one is a real giggler. I remembered last week….while in school we had to remove our charm bracelets….I thought it might have been the noise….but these mechanical ones would delight me for hours. Great blog.

I love the mechanicals, they are like little machines! It takes time to bid at auction, (there are 100’s of sellers on ebay and you have to know who is reputable )or find a dealer with rare stuff. time to collect, time to work up a theme, get a good bracelet for them to go on and then construct it. Thank goodness I found a new kind of jumpring that is strong and locks. I was soldering and it took me days with fumes, burned fingers and eyestrain.All mys stuff is one of a kind with many rare charms and probably not able to reproduce.
