So my friends, it’s catch-up time.

We are back to Robert and a few of his noted responses during visits. When we communicate I prompt and prompt for a response but there are times when words just come to him and I am pleasantly surprised … I haven’t taken as many notes as I would have liked during in-person and FaceTime calls, but I will say that sometimes my babbling and prompting seem to work.

To wit: when I mentioned that our brother-in-law had been ill there was initially no reaction, but if I said, “what would you like to tell him?” He replied, “Feel better.”

And after telling him about Evan and what he’s been up to, again there was no reaction, but if I said, “what would you like to tell him?” He said, after a while, “Everything!

And, when I said, “I love you,” he said, “I love you a lot!”

During a FaceTime call, I said, “you never watch television, why not see if there is something you would like to see?
He said to the aide, “What do you think?,” asking for her input.

But the real test was when I said, “Vintage Seltzer is 5/$3.00,” He said, “That’s a damn good price!”

Robert, we know you’re in there!

And, as I write this, he is hopefully, out of recovery, having had an angiogram for an arterial blockage to his foot.
