3. Life Is a Journey, But This Is a Trip: Better Oily Than Late
The possibilities of health benefits and cures are propelling people to more natural products. If people see results, Big Pharma will be on the run. And that’s OK with me. It’s time for change, it’s time to get away from mass produced pills; some of our meds are imported from India and China. Some have been recalled. The farther the source of medications, the more uneasy I get. We’ve seen what has happened in China with melamine in baby formula, for example. Or fish being farmed in fetid water in India. (I cringe when in the Fairway Market and see the provenance of shrimp from India.) The breakdown of the moral compass is rampant and it has spread world-wide. It is time to take a good look at what is happening to us and we can start here.
You want made-in-America? You got it. Companies are springing up that are farming hemp and cannabis products. Some are grown organically, some not. Many offer third part evaluations, lab tests, assessments. There are web-sites sprouting daily. People realize that this is the way to go. In my readings and research people report, joyfully, that they have finally have beat years if not a lifetime of pain. This is monumental to me. Looking down to the ground, to the earth which miraculously grows nurturance, how can we not be in awe?
My journey continues. Everyone reacts differently to these products so it is a largely trial and error experience. But maybe this is all a very basic test. Maybe the fact that these products do something very important—relieve anxiety—is the bottom line upon which all is built. With the removal of anxiety the human flower can bloom: pain diminishes, fears abate, appetite increases, energy grows, well-being flourishes. This to me is a return to the beginning.
I find that even with an oil without THC, the psychoactive component, I get a reaction. This morning I tried an oil from the dispensary which had NO THC. but to me it felt like it had. Was it that I was relaxed, that when the body relaxes, de-stresses, that feeling prevails? A morning dose makes me feel like “what the heck, I am going back to bed!” I get this feeling from the prescribed oils and over the counter/net alike. It’s like my being is soaking up something it needs.
The question is: when does one take what version? As everyone is different and will react differently, it is a self-experiment. When a doctor prescribes there is no telling how a medication will work. We are what we have been all along: our own doctors, and if anything, we learn to tune into our bodies and do what is right for us.
What I have recently learned about vaping: Some vapes use vegetable oil (V/G) to enhance the drag and some also add “Propylene Glycol (PG) and polyethylene glycol (PEG). Unfortunately, the pre-installed Charlotte’s Web vape which I tried and like, contains some of this. I will not be re-ordering the oil in this form, I will stick to the bottle.
The NYS Dispensary pen does not contain any additives.
I found a company that had a Labor Day sale on vape kits. The oil has no additives; this will be my next try. I’ll be back to report.
The bottom line: In August
Days Without Visual Migraine | Days With Visual Migraine | Resolved Migraines With Oil/Vape |
14 | 12 (considered chronic) | 4 |
I was away on vacation and was unable to take my oil/vape on demand due to time/place constraints. You can’t just vape in an art museum! I am hoping that I can get the number of migraines down and resolved issues, up.

Thanks for providing all of this info.
Sounds like you’re finally on the right track!
(BTW, it’s referred to as V/G or P/G.)
My nicotine vape pen has the VG, and I’ll probably switch to a PG liquid at sometime in the future.
Meanwhile, really happy to hear that this has helped you so much.
