The main exhibit is that of Sol Lewitt’s art; “A Wall Drawing Retro-Spective.” These are huge installations which were reproduced by artists and interns by what looks like architectural plans. They are colorful graphics, and the reproductions in such large spaces were an enormous undertaking. A quote that moved me: “The idea is the most important aspect of the work.”
I attribute that to the fact that the work was not done by his hand, but by his design.
Photos in and around the building
The former factory as art space. I find it fascinating to dig for the esoteric meaning of contemporary art. I always learn something amazing about the symbolism and larger picture the pieces represent.

very interesting art sue Heidi, the art goes on forever. Some exhibits call to me more than others but that’s true for most art.
There was one exhibit that really blew me away. It was a 4 minute recording of what looked like a still life, a rabbit hanging from the wall, a peach near it. All of a sudden you see it being deconstructed from the inside out by maggots or whatever. It was real, it was nature, it was kind of a reality byte. People were so intrigued by something from nature. It was horrifying yet beautiful in a perverse way, the way that life goes. |
