NYC Photo Journal: 5. Color Pop in the Back Yard: It’s About Time
The Krauter Vesuvius Plum does not bear fruit, but beautiful blooms. It was consolation when the very old apple tree in the back yard died. Pink is pink. Gotta have it.
This is just the beginning. After the tree fills up with beautiful blooms, they will drop and make way for red leaves.
Waiting to be planted: violas. Alas, it is too cold.
Inside, the violets bloom and the orchids, wait to be let out.
In time, it all changes
The flowers leave like pink falling snow, and red leaves take their place.

Hey Sansouci, the photos of your garden are gorgeous. I can see you’re impatient to plant and put your hands in dirt. That I can understand, Winters seem always too long.
And I’m so happy to see the little drawing made for you is still on your website.
Beautiful Spring Pics. Love the contrast of seasons especially /:-)
Nice to see it’s blooming in your backyard so I can still hope… here it’s still all bare, the grass is not even all green yet.
The flowers are so beautiful!
Just georgeous!
Beautiful pictures…. beautiful words.
Right now, my peach tree is flowering, & I see tiny hints of lilacs waiting to open.
Nice to see after what seemed like an interminable winter (even if Rich & I missed a good deal of it by being in FL for 5 weeks).
