Mezze is a wonderful restaurant in the Berkshires that works closely with farms to obtain the best possible food; it is what you could call a farm to table restaurant. I have been there a number of times and the roast chicken is always superb; it reminds me of the chicken of my childhood. The greens are spectacular as well. Isn’t it amazing that fresh food has become an adventure?

What amazing looking food Sooz. Those of us who can remember what “real and fresh” food actually looks and tastes like, will find the images in these pics mouth watering. I read an article no long ago about a couple who gave up eating all cold storage “fresh” food from shops and supermarkets in favour of veggies they grew at home, and watered from non-fluoridated tank water. They also only ate free range meat from specialty butcher shops. I know this is merely and anecdotal article, but they whole family reported that within 6 months they felt incredibly well and energized. There is something to be said for the goodness in direct, garden to table produce.
Sue, my nephew takes us to the same sort of establishment in Auburn, N.Y. The food is organic and farm to table. It is VERY good food! I am reminded of Binders. Do you remember that place on Ave D? They killed the chicken as you watched and then it was your supper! For some reason, it never tasted quite good to me and so my mother “gave up” and didn’t buy it anymore.
