Happy Birthday to Dylan Thomas — 2 Comments

  1. An incomparable poet, his language was rich and visionary. He loved, drank, made love and died like a “poète maudit”. However, he wasn’t graced with Rimbaud’s looks, with Byron’s brilliance, with Leopardi’s privileged upbringing or with Poe’s celebrity. He only had a great imagination and un uncanny abilty to match ideas and words in his own unique manner, and an irresistible drive to self-destruction. His literary legacy is live and kicking instead, and it will be for a long time.
