It is a matter of moderation. It becomes addictive for weak characters, but it is a useful tool if used properly.
I am on a facebook hiatus. I disabled not deleted my account. I intend to re-enable it in another month or so after taking three months off. But I do not intend to replace the app (nor the messenger app) on my phone. I will check it on my laptop daily. I have been hanging out at google+ some. I just got sick of the drama. I also find I am less overwhelmed with sadness since I am not being bombarded with so and so’s brothers’s wife’s mother’s cousin having cancer or whatever from 500 different directions.
I don’t use any Social media. I don’t have a Facebook account or any other except Classmates and Google+, and I rarely look at that.
I think rather than social, it’s isolating. People now have hundreds of”friends” but don’t have any real contact. Call me old fashioned, but I don’t see the allure of FB.
