Healing: Scenes at the Vet
Yesterday we made a heartwarming visit to the vet to see how Caramel was doing. Animals do get depressed when away from their familiar surroundings; I opened the cage door and she was truly forlorn—OK, so I am projecting. She sniffed my hand and sniffed some more. Remember, she was unable to breathe and smell for weeks. She picked up my scent and pushed her head into my hand. This is language.
It was dinner time. The tech put a dish of food and water into her cage and she went right over to it and began to EAT, a few licks but more than she had in weeks and with gusto. Which meant that enough pressure had been taken off her throat to be able to swallow and breathe. It was wonderful to see!
The vets will continue today to attempt to drain more fluid. It was evident that she was still having some issues and you could hear that her breathing was still not normal, but what a difference, and so it was not a cold! This poor little thing was being strangled by a cyst and fighting it for weeks!
Here are some photos of the visit.
2:30 PM the vet called: They extracted 20 ccs more fluid! She is eating! They are sending her home! Very soon!
Nice to hear some good news for a change 😀.
Speedy recovery to Caramel.😘
Yay! That’s great news.
