269→Husband Journey: Again
Just thinking that this is a part of the journey, the story that remains an enigma and cannot be explained. It is the story that challenges the shadow belief that we have control.
Robert contracted Covid. Again. Remember, he had it less than a year ago.
He’s had two J&J vaxes.
A visitor to his roommate brought it in. That ticks me off. The guidelines were so loosened by the CDC that it was, in my book, irresponsible and now the rules have been rolled back to allow visitation for people who have tested negative within twenty-four hours.
I finally found out that he was moved to a Covid floor. Better than last year where he was triaged all over the place.
Is this fair to a person in his condition? An adamant NO.
Was this inevitable? Likely.
He is alive.
What can one say? He was barely eating before. He seemed to have clearer cognition for a while, and he seemed to have the possibility of possibilities.
I am not visiting. Looking out for myself.
I am the only one that I have.

Can’t believe they were careless enough to allow Robert to come into contact with somebody with covid.
At the very least they should be screening visitors vigorously plus requiring masks and distance. With this covid crisis there should not be a roommate. All rooms should be private one person and visitors carefully screened.
You are such a strong and resilient woman. You have to take care of yourself, please. I will keep you and Robert in my prayers.
As you said before, Sue, writing is your lifeline. Ando ours as well. Thank you for doing it.
What you and Robert have been through, offends my sense of “fair play” But then, Life is not fair. That you soldier on and have the stamina to write about it, is astonishing. I would have been ground to dust. I hope that you and Evan are able to prop each other up sometimes. Many hugs to you both.
