Five Hundred, Twenty-Five Thousand, Six Hundred Minutes
It has taken me a year to tackle Robert’s obit.
I couldn’t face it.
The words didn’t come.
Then they came and there were too many.
Then there were not enough.
Now, it is done. The best I could do.
It will be published nationally on Saturday
in The New York Times, January 18, 2025
on the ONE YEAR ANNIVERSARY of his passing.
He read The Times everyday, never missed a day since
he was a pre-teen. All those years.
Now one year passes and it feels like a lifetime.
And it feels like yesterday.

Seasons of Love
In daylights, in sunsets In midnights, in cups of coffee In inchesin miles In laughter, in strife In five hundred twenty-five thousand, six hundred minutes How do you measure a year in the life?
Measure in love (love), sweet love (love) Seasons of love, oh yeah Love (love), sweet love (love) Seasons of love Love (love), sweet love (love) Seasons of love Measure your life in Seasons of love Yeah, oh
Poignant. Feel your sentiments. Love. D
You captured him in this heartfelt, heartbreaking tribute to Robert. The love is there, in every word. And concluding with Seasons of Love – you nailed it.
Beautiful tribute! ♥️
Exactly how does one sum up the life of someone who had such an influence in shaping the lives of so many others?
I believe you found exactly the right number of words.
