A Little Catch-Up
☀︎Yin and Yang:
My mother was actually doing better last week on the new medication: sleeping OK, asked to call me, we had a nice conversation, she was fairly well oriented. Yesterday she told the aide her baked potato was burned black. The aide insisted it was not. My mother called the aide an asshole.
☀︎Mercury in Retrograde:
Tech stuff, goes haywire. I was unable to post a photo blog yesterday because of issues uploading photos. Found a work-around and hope to get it going soon. It is about all the butterflies🦋 we have been raising.
☀︎ Health/Migraine:
Well, you know I have been dealing with this for years now; it came on full-force when I began care-giving for my mother in around 2012. I am sitting here at this moment with an ocular migraine that, as always, surprised me while I was not thinking about it. Call it a “moment-mugging.” It’s currently passing over to my left side of vision. I had seen a decline over the last couple of months but there is never a complete remission. I take the self-shot, EMGALITY, monthly. I get four to six ocular episodes a month: Better than the one-a-day I was getting years ago. I have this new device which is a disappointment, Nerivio, it is an electric pulse stimulator which goes on the upper arm and by the time I get to it, get it on, reboot my phone, synchronize it—and it never works the first time, the ocular episode is almost gone. Take that for $100.00 for 10 treatments. (Not to mention the Emgality whch is almost $15.00/mo).
☀︎ Pandem-onium Daze:
So far, so good. Found a PT place for husband who was in severe decline. It has a van pick-up service and I escort him.
New York has fared better than all the other states because of diligence. I still can’t understand what mask-dissenters are thinking. Going to a Covid Party? Rotsa Ruck. I’ll say no more. Unlike my mother who lost her “filter,” I still have mine.
I tend my garden and keep my sanity in my little Eden.
☀︎ Evan puzzles!

☀︎Vanity
—Does it really matter that I haven’t had my hair tended to since mid-February? That I see a lot of gray?
That I haven’t worn make-up in months? Do I really care? We all look the same behind a mask, we are all trying to just keep going. Priorities have changed.
Best wishes in getting through another day. Here’s to sanity, health, learning what is important: and to maintaining our filters.

Sending you love and unblinding light! 🥰
