Ampersand was fine and then he wasn’t, just like that. He is eating and doing everything normally but about a week ago one eye started running. No symptoms of a respiratory problem, no other cats sick. I thought that his mom might have bopped him in the eye. The, junk began to appear. Gradually it began to look better but then the other eye started to do the same thing. Both eyes seem better from afar but when I went up close I could see the membrane was inflamed and I didn’t like the looks of it. Remember Little Arnold Schwartz Katz who died of some infection? Had this gone untreated Ampersand could lose his eyes!

This is a very skittish kitty who has never been held. Thank goodness I am able to get him into the carrier with the lure of treats. Off we went (he is over sixteen pounds + the carrier) in the rain.

It’s a virus. It could be Herpes. (How in the world?) I bet you anything he caught something while he was a the vet a few weeks ago. (When Play had been at the vet for glucose monitoring remember he came home with a bad cold and then the others got it?. Please keep your fingers crossed: I need to grab him and pull his head back and give him a couple of pumps of L-Lysine twice a day for his immune system ( hmmm tuna flavor, maybe I can mix it in the food!) and three times a day he needs eye ointment.

Oh, and please keep your fingers crossed that the other two don’t get it.

I’ll settle for New Year’s for my Christmas wish.
