How we celebrate Christmas
-
You have to have a soda by Dr. Brown’s:
it’s like a vintage wine!!
-
…and then there are the fresh hand cut
fries-gotta have them
-
In Noo Yawk it is illegal to eat any meat
on white bread wit mayo. Jewish Deli
meat is eaten on rye bread with
mustard. Anything else and you are an
obvious tourist!
-
It’s stuffed derma. A big deal at bar
mitzvahs in the ’50’s They used to stuff
an intestine casing (derma) but there is
no casing any more. Just good old heart
attack food. We are with friends from
Chicago.
-
Sit down and the waiter runs over with
pickles–half sour and sour and a pile of
cole slaw
-
This is chicken soup with a matzo ball
and noodles. This “cup” can hold a
basket ball. Actually that is about the
size of this matzo ball. Don’t forget the
dill.

NYC deli food was also part of my Christmas celebration. Carnegie deli cheesecake….to die for! This looks so yummy!
