I am baffled by Windows 8: not switching for a while, holding out. I am also peeved by these declarations that MS is “no longer” going to support this that and the other. I protested and got a Mac which, though it is an excellent machine, is not my first go-to when booting up. I just run a bunch of computers and take my pick during the day. (Still dealing with a Mac learning curve.)
Would love to experiment with alternatives but we are creatures of habit and that pretty much dictates that we will never see the full potential of Java. Anyone remember all the beautiful Java graphics and cards that were around in the 90’s? We don’t see anything like that now.
Rooie, my Mac explorations are about as far as I’ve gone. But there are times I must use the PC; I have all my software on it. Sometimes it is all so ridiculous!
Google and Apple have MS on their heels and they are not helping themselves by releasing such things as Windows 8. 🙂
