but …
eventually I was at Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, New York, for a luncheon, a celebration of alumni and tours of buildings. There had been a terrible fire in a building and the subsequent reconstruction of it was wonderful.
A few photos. The fun and interesting thing about this well-renown institution of art and architecture that was founded in 1887, is that a myriad of stray cats live in the boiler room. The cats are cared for, fed, taken to the vet, and adored by students and faculty members, alike. They roam the campus freely and might end up sunning themselves on a welcoming lap or book.
The day, part 2
An evening in Manhattan at Lincoln Center. It was a magnificent time of lightness and laughter. The Charlie Chaplin film, Modern Times (1936) was shown and it was accompanied by the Philharmonic led by the debuting conductor, Timothy Brock, in the playing of the original score.
Modern Times was written by Charlie Chaplin, but few people know of his background in music and that he wrote the scores for his films. It was all-around joy.
The entire movie is presented below, enjoy!

And then the day ended. In heavy traffic.
The traffic sounded terrible, but the show sounded GREAT!
