Playing Catch-Up: Cats, Cold, Mothers, Makeup and Art
The last we spoke, it was a rocky start to The New Year, and Caramel was in a bad way. But she came home and began eating, purring and exploring; I am sure the relief of the draining of that huge cyst was enormous. It was likely pressing on her trachea and vocal cords. She looks so much better and at least we know now what the culprit might be in the future if this returns: if she is strong enough, they’ll likely remove her thyroid.
You know you love kitties: here’s a slideshow of improvement.
So, while the kitty took up several weeks and was the cause of anxious distraction, I got back into action in my photography group and am working on a little self-contained “studio” set-up where I have been trying to perfect photographing my charm bracelet designs, etc. So, this is a looking back at what I have made and collected and am archiving; an interesting project and a new skill. More will come, but for now, Here’s Noo Yawk, Noo Yawk.
As you know I’ve been dealing with visual migraines for about seven or eight years now. I am happy to report that I am still making progress; I believe that the new drug, AIMOVIG, self-injected monthly, is helping a lot. Though it is directed at pain headaches and I have barely had any that truly warranted pain meds since I began this new regimen, I still get ocular episodes, though now instead of a chronic fourteen or so monthly I get maybe five or six and can sometimes stop them in their tracks with CBD oil or vape. This month, however, I had a few pairs over a couple of days, and if I really thought about it I could detect that under other circumstances I’d be having a real headache and likely from the frigid weather and yo-yo temps we’ve been having. That happened this morning: I was not able to stop the occurrence and went back to bed after breakfast to try to get rid of the ocular episode and mild pain.
I could hear the phone ringing, I could hear a woman’s voice from the floor below, on the answering machine: it was my mother. She was going on and on about a makeup foundations I had gotten her a while back and that she couldn’t get the dispenser to work; “the spring was broken…I should return it (too late for that…).
I am thinking that if I live to be 100+ years I hope my only issue is that I can’t get the makeup out of the bottle.

Love your photos and love the positivity as it pertains to your cat,
your health, and your mother. Keep your bright outlook!
2019 is on an upswing! May it continue!!!

I am so glad that Caramel is doing much better! I also love your bracelets!
yes, trouble with make up should be my biggest problem when I get older! Your kitty looks beautiful
and is fortunate to have you as her Mom! Congratulations on your medical progress. Ralph and I
celebrate the health we have every day 🙂
Your kitty is beautiful – she looks nice and content, and you’d never know anything even happened, just from the photos. And glad you got some “you” time – love the photos and the NYC memorabilia!

Another delightful report on your wacky January 2019. You’re a star!
I’m so happy to hear of continued good results with new meds and cbd. Our 98 year old aunt finally has hearing aids. VERY helpful for us! She won’t really admit (still) that she needs them. So happy your kitty is doing better!! May the rest of the year be much calmer!! ❤️
