Sick Kitty Update 11: 11/22/13: Still at the Vet
Nope, not ready to go home. Though Play looked much better than ever yesterday and the talk was of releasing him, there seems to be one vet pushing for him to leave and the older vet not. I am with the older vet. Yesterday the cat was lying in urine, I saw he was wet when he turned over to greet me. Mind you, he hasn’t used a litter box in three weeks because it could cause infection, and there was some poop on his foot. He has to be watched.
Before he is released they will be taking the stitches out which leaves small possibilities for infection, I would think. If anything goes wrong on a Sunday I am stuck. I think the right thing is to keep him until he is as close to healed as possible. The diabetes can impact the healing with the stitches removed.
I agree and I feel better, I was worried. These are details that must be looked at. After all this, the poor animal doesn’t need more problems. There is a great tech on duty tomorrow.
We wait.
I am glad they are acting with caution. Can’t go wrong by leaving him in the right hands some extra time. And those staffs are just wonderful, aren’t they?
Little Play, I love you <3
