Sick Kitty Update 5: 11/13/13: A Meow
Play has been at the vet for twenty days. It is 2 weeks past his surgery and he still has healing issues and now conjunctivitis. I think he is resigned to his new temporary home. The doesn’t fight the cone or the IV and today he sat quietly against the side of his cage. He is healing very slowly due to the diabetes. This is the first time he was sitting very close to the front of the cage, and against its (solid) wall rather than lying down. It took me a while to process that he has no right leg.
The little fellow next door was crying constantly after his surgery. He had a lump under his leg.
I opened the cage and smoothed down Play’s fur which has lost its silkiness. He started to purr. I stoked his face and ear and he recognized me. When I talked to him in my familiar crazy, at home, I love you kitty voice he meowed! I rubbed my nose against his forehead. Yup, he knew it was me.
A group of buddies, I believe they do not have homes, were across and on the floor. Get well soon, everyone!
Hi Little Mister!
Joann, this is a nice vet, he takes in many animals that have no homes and who are sick. I have a wonderful friend who pays the bills! She spends all her money taking care of animals. She is a combination of Mother Theresa and St. Francis of Assisi.
Little Mister sends his get well wishes.
Play looks better to me. It is very traumatic for you but just think Play knows his leg is missing but he also will do better to soon. I hope soon all goes better, the cats are like us too. I think. Jayden’s asleep but will visit here tomorrow. He is very concerned about Play. I am not going to stop my prayers, I will go on praying for Play.I think Play moved closer to the door waiting for you. I just know and see how much you care for your Play. Are all the neighbor cats by Play there also operated on have no owners? Thats so awful…..God Bless Play and other cats too!
