Soup For You and a Good Play
It’s all about soup: The Soup Man (aka, the Seinfeld “Soup Nazi”)
vs. a branch of Hale & Hearty Soups, across the street.
(I am in search of the perfect mulligatawny soup.)
I had lunch at Hale & Hearty where there is a vast variety including sandwiches and salads and one can sit. I took home a serving from the Soup Man. Will the addition of the included banana, bread, and a Lindt chocolate justify the $8.00 for their mulligatawny soup?

about the play

creative team
The Commons of Pensacola is the disintegration of a family after a father’s criminal activity à la Bernie Madoff. Family members lose their connection, morality, way. Who really knew and who didn’t?
On to the last day of LIC Flea. The air was getting nippy and the stalls were closing for the season. Picked up some more “Bruffins” from “Fav’s” booth. Combination muffins and brioche with varying fillings for an international flair. They make the greatest peanut putter and chocolate feather light cookies, gluten free.
A few booths in either direction, I grabbed some fabulous just baked “portable” chicken pot pies and pumpkins pies and stuffed rice balls, also with various stuffings.
Winter is coming; you can hear the soup calling.
wow,the true New York Lady is Sue, you should publish these articles. You capture the true New York we love, thanks PS I Loved the Seinfeld SOUP Nazi.
In my childhood there was never a day without soup. In all varieties, all kinds of vegetables but mostly a hearty minestrone. It is a staple of my diet even nowadays, and I love experimenting and varying the ingredients. Today I’ve had a soup with pumpkin, chestnuts, kidney beans, savoy cabbage and barley. Very satisfying.
sue,
i love making and eating soups. i am experimenting with recipes from epicurious.com. tonight i made a winter vegetable soup with dill. it was very healthy and good tasting. my favorite is butternut squash with apples and ginger for its buttery smoothness and low calories. i haven’t tasted mulligatawny but will look for a recipe and try it. as far as the cost of soup at the nazi’s life is short, 8 bucks won’t change your life, enjoy!
Me too! And must tell you, the soup was the BEST and worth it. I hadn’t had it in a long time and forgot how fabulous it is. Full of nuts and curry.
The “Soup Nazi” Seinfeld episode is as good as it gets. A real classic.
