Vintage Etruscan-style jewelry part 2
Now you know the story of why I became impassioned with these charms, you know about my friend Irma. And now, I’ll tell you about my friend, Cynthia. I met her when I returned to work after I had my son. She was a teacher in one of the schools I was assigned to. As I greeted her, I saw that she had an “Irma Bracelet.” The universe threw us together. We’ve been close friends for over 20 years.
And now some more of my objects d’art.

I’m sorry! I was posting and the site was not cooperating–how would I know they were doing maintenance during my uploading. I lost the post, had to start again, and again it didn’t cooperate. I hit enter 3 times trying to move a picture and it posted what was on the page so I quickly blocked it. Then the card reader quit on my computer and I was unable to locate the cord to connect my camera directly probably because Sans Souci Jr. took it to college by mistake. I had to call Dell to get some tech support and I was all fixed in a few minutes. Sheesh, this was a biggie today. Enjoy! |

WOW!!!! This has got to be your best jewelry post ever ! I love all the colors of these charms. Every piece is absolutely gorgeous ! and look ! Here’s the one you gave me for my birthday a few years ago ! I think there’s turquoise and jade in it. Maybe you can tell me more about it. Is there a story that goes with it ?

Turquoise and the other green stone is probably chrysophrase.. I know you love turquoise. 😀 Probably of this Etruscan-style “ilk” though I had never seen any with stones like this before, just suspended that way. The story is I found it on–where else? ebay!

I think I remember Irma. She was a short Jewish woman who lived in our building years ago, right ?

I am very impressed with your charms and charm bracelets. It is so neat to see them up close. I really was enchanted with Cinderella’s coach.

Ladies, I thank you and I am glad you enjoyed. I love these “Etruscans” and it’s all because of Irma’s bracelet. Heidi, I believe Lago di Bolsena is near my favorite place on earth–Orvieto. There is an Etruscan museum in the town and tombs on the outskirts. I always called these “fantasy” charms. They look like all kinds of things, catoonish and whimsical. Isn’t that coach great?? I have a few more I’ll post next week and then we’ll see what I am up to. Love you, guys!

I think you have to have a certain “eye” for this stuff; it’s rather eclectic. I see each piece as a work of art.

Nice. Some of the Etruscan design, such as that bauble, looks very medieval.
