I am SO into this theme, Suz! Every year we support the Daniel Pearl Music Foundation on Daniel’s birthday, which is 10 October. He was a violinist who believed that music bridged the gap between love and hatred, bringing mutual souls together in the beautiful language of the soul that binds us. Daniel was also a journalist and unfortunately misjudged an offer for an interview with a terrorist group in Pakistan shortly after 911. He was used as an object of propaganda and beheaded – a sad martyr and yet beautiful soul (danielpearl.org).

Shers, that was such a tragic event, so terrible, I remember.
Music does and can heal. The story of Dudamel is fantastic, as well as the story of music for the young poor souls of Venezuela. |
